Director of the International Research Center «Coherent X-ray Optics for "Mega-science" Facilities» of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (Russia)
Leading scientist's research interests: Coherent X-ray optics and microscopy: phase contrast, holography and interferometry; design and development of deflection and diffraction optics for X-ray solid radiation microscopy
Quote by the head of the laboratory: Building new synchrotrons – fourth generation X-ray sources – requires solutions of many hi-tech problems related to not only the laser-like source but also to transportation and control of high-energy X-ray beams. We started to prepare to this change in advance, when four years ago we within the mega-grant the Laboratory of Coherent X-ray Optics was created at the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University. We can say without humbleness that our advancements are at the very peak of the world level of development pf synchrotron optics, they have found wide applications in leading centers.
