Goals and objectives
Project objective:

Implementing a complex of fundamental and applied interdisciplinary research of economic behavior of population and cognitive justifications of perception of economic policies by the population by integrating neurphysiological, psychophysiologial, sociopsychological analysis and the toolkit of economic psychology, behavior economics, experimental economic theory and econometrics to develop the field of applied economic analysis – economic policy theory

The practical value of the study
2018:

  • We have described technologies of cognitive mapping based on a modern eye-tracking technology  (electrooculography) and the environmental concept of psychology.
  • We have refined the program of experimental research containing a thesaurus, a system of hypotheses, and a description of the procedure of reading and processing the results.
  • The Laboratory has obtained informational and analytical materials generalizing data from preliminary field cross-cultural research containing array of data on types of cognitive maps in confession, ethical, religious, gender and age groups as well as of levels of subjective economical well-being, income, education. We have described a refined hypothesis system and a standardized procedure for conducting field cross-culture research.
  • Our researchers have developed methodological prescriptions concerning technology and procedure of laboratory experimental research of economic behavior and a software complex for primary processing of experimental data.
  • We have developed methodological recommendations for organizing and conducting psychological and economical monitoring of economic activity of populations of regions of the Russian Federation.
  • We have described technologies for conducting psychological and economical monitoring of economic activity of populations of regions of the Russian Federation.
  • The Laboratory has obtained information and statistical data generalizing results of experimental sessions with a description of the procedure of conducting the experiment and main parameters of the tested persons.
2019:

  • We have conducted a series of laboratory interdisciplinary experiments to compare neurophysiological activity maps with cognitive maps of the economical situation and objective maps of the economic situation with the stages of adoption and implementation of sequential economical decisions. In accordance with the work plan for 2019 we have conducted a total of 20 experimental sessions involving 360 respondents.

  • On the basis of processed experimental data we have preliminarily drafted the economic behaviour styles of the population of Russia.

  • On the basis of processed experiential data we have isolated and described the types of working with economic information in various groups of the population of Russia.

  • We have preliminarily determined the cross-cultural features of the economic behaviour of the population of Russia.

  • To test the determined styles and types we have built a multi-agent model of the behaviour of the population of Russia that has been submitted as an invention to the Russian patent registration authority.

  • The obtained information and analytical materials generalising data of pilot field cross-cultural studies that contains a data array on the detection of the types of cognitive maps with respect to confessional, ethnic, age and gender, regional groups as well as the levels of subjective economic well-being, income, education; we have described a refined system of hypotheses and a standardised procedure of conducting field cross-cultural research.

2020:

  • Our team have conducted a series of inter-disciplinary experiments comparing various modes of the institutionalised design of social and economic systems with the effects of the transformation of the economic behaviour and its productivity.
  • We have conducted a series of laboratory inter-disciplinary experiments comparing various modes of state monetary and credit policy with the effects of the transformation of the economic behaviour and its productivity.
  • We have conducted a series of laboratory inter-disciplinary experiments comparing various modes of state industrial policy with the effects of transformation of the economic behaviour and its productivity.
  • We have conducted a series of laboratory inter-disciplinary experiments comparing various modes of the state science, technology, and innovation policy with the effects of the transformation of the economic behaviour and its productivity.
  • The Laboratory has conducted an economic and psychological modelling aimed at the formalisation of the mechanism of the cross-cultural and cognitive-psychological foundations of the state economic policy.
  • We have conducted an economic and psychological monitoring of the economic activity of the population of regions of Russia.

Implemented results of research:

We have described technologies of cognitive mapping based on a modern eye-tracking technology  (electrooculography) and the environmental concept of psychology, a technology of laboratory experimental research of economical behavior, a software complex for primary processing of experimental data, a technology for organizing and conducting psychological and economical monitoring of economic activity of populations of regions of the Russian Federation. 

To test the determined styles and types, we have built a multi-agent model of the behaviour of the population of Russia that has been submitted as an invention pending patent registration with the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).

Education and career development:

We have integrated the main master degree programmes «Economic and psychological design of companies and business processes» (for the «Economics» major) with the work plan of the Laboratory to organise practical lessons and case studies on the grounds of the Laboratory as well as internships and research work of master degree students.

We have integrated the main «Economic theory» postgraduate degree education programmes (for the «Economics» major) with the work plan of the Laboratory to organise practical lessons and case studies on the grounds of the Laboratory as well as internships and research work of postgraduate students, their introduction to the modern methods and methodologies of tutoring in the global education practice.

We have developed the main education program «Psychology of the Economic Policy and Geopolitic Conflictology».

2018:

  • One member of the laboratory staff has completed training in methods and technologies of polygraph research at the International Academy of Lie Research (Russia). The training was subsidised by extra-budgetary funding.
  • One employee of the Laboratory has been sent to an internship to Germany in the programme «State governance» to build the competencies necessary for the comparison of the modes of economic policy in different countries.
  • Two members of the laboratory staff have completed training within the scientific school of the Institute of Psychology of the Russian Academy of Sciences «Modelling and analysis of networks in the research of the human cognitive system» (Russia).
  • A number of research interns have been admitted to the field-specific master's degree programme to develop the necessary academic competencies, a group of Laboratory employees have enrolled into field-specific postgraduate schools.

2019:

  • One employee of the Laboratory has completed an internship in profiling methods and technologies at the International Academy of Lie Research (Russia);
  • One employee of the Laboratory has obtained a qualification in patentology from the International Academy of Appraisal and Consulting (Russia);
  • Two employees of the Laboratory were sent to an international scientific school to Sweden within the «Behavioural Environmental Economics» programme.
  • Three employees of the Laboratory have mastered the programme of the scientific school within the International Youth Forum «Silk Road – New Format – Green Standard» in Kyrgyzstan.
  • A number of research interns have been admitted to a relevant master's degree programme to develop the necessary academic competencies, a group of Laboratory employees have enrolled into field-specific postgraduate schools.

2020:

  • Two employees of the Laboratory have completed training within the additional training programme «The Java programming language (Java SE10). Part 1. Core course» at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Russia).
  • Two employees of the Laboratory have completed additional training within the «Microsoft Excel expert» programme at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University (Russia);
  • Two employees of the Laboratory have completed training within the additional education programme «The cognitive system in the field of public procurement for the fulfilment of the needs of budgetary organisations» at the Institute of Public Procurement.
  • Two employees of the Laboratory have completed English language training at «The Old School»;
  • Two employees of the Laboratory have completed training at the Data Analysis School within the additional professional training programme «The English Language».
  • Ten members of the Laboratory staff have completed the programme of the 7th International Scientific School for Bachelor's and Master's Degree and Postgraduate Students in Economic Psychology and Experimental Economics «Economic Psychology of Global Processes and Behavioural geoeconomics»;
  • ·Eight employees of the Laboratory have completed the programme of the 6th International Scientific School for Young Scientists in Economic Policy and Economic Behaviour of the Population;
  • A number of team members have been admitted to postgraduate schools in the topic of the project to develop the necessary research competencies.

  • The 2nd International Forum on Economic Psychology and Behavioural Economics «Modern Tendencies in Economic Psychology» (22 – 25 September 2020).

In 2018, a series of master-classes in the form of webinars and in-person seminars have been conducted in Kaliningrad, Yalta, and Saratov.

In 2019, a series of master-classes were organised in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Almaty, Uralsk, Kyzylorda (Kazakhstan) as well as in Nizhniy Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and Rostov-on-Don.

In 2020, master-class took place in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Almaty, Uralsk, Kyzylorda (Kazakhstan) as well as in Nizhniy Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, and Irkutsk.

Organizational and structural changes:

The Centre for the Collective Use of Scientific Equipment «Neurological, Sociological, Information and Cognitive Technologies and Political & Economic Systems» has been created.
