Francis McGlone is a renowned specialist in the domain of the research of the neurobiology of sensory perception and skin reception, the author of several hundred of articles devoted to the research of tactile perception, pain, taste and thermoreception. His most significant  achievements are related to the study of the С-tactile system (C-LTM afferents) whose afferents were first discovered in humans in 1993.
