General information
h-index:

Leading scientist's research interests:

- synthesis, study of properties and modification of 3D chalcogenide glass and thin films;

- structural research of glass and thin films using direct methods: (1) neutron diffraction including isotopic substitution when using a reactor and/or a pulse neutron source, (2) high-energy X-ray diffraction (80-115 keV) on third-generation synchrotron radiation sources, (3) X-ray spectroscopy EXAFS and XANES, (4) small-angle neutrino or X-ray scattering including anomalous scattering, as well as spectroscopy methods; (5) Mössbauer spectroscopy using using the 57Fe, 119Sn, 121Sb, 125Te and 129I resonances, and (6) Raman spectroscopy;

- computer modeling of structural and transport properties using density functional theory (DFT), first principles molecular dynamics (FPMD) as well as RMC and EPSR empirical methods;

- research of correlation between optical properties of chalcogenide and oxide glasses and their structural changes at the microscopic (1 – 10 Å) and the mezoscopic (10 – 1 000 Å) levels, under influence of femtosecond laser radiation;

- new glass-like materials for nonlinear optics;

- research of transport phenomena using measurements of ionic and electronic conductivity, radioisotope diffusion and quasielastic neutron scattering;

- development of modern chemical sensors based on new chalcogenide and oxide glasses for detection of heavy metal ions, toxic anions and oxidation reduction reactions in solutions;

- research of electrochemical behavior of sensors and their sensory mechanisms using methods of surface spectroscopy (XPS, AES, SIMS, SNMS, RBS) and radioisotopes;

- analytical applications of developed sensors in the industry (continuous control of technological processes) and for environmental monitoring - modeling of pollution by contaminants (heavy metals, NOx) for significant reduction of duration production processes.
